Product description & features

Michelin have created the CrossClimate 2 to provide motorists with a safe drive no matter the weather.

With a directional tread pattern, the CrossClimate 2 quickly gets rid of water from the tyre providing exceptional grip in wet conditions. The tread pattern features 3-D sipeLock technology to enhance treadwear resistance and a distinctive V-formation pattern to spread out weight evenly throughout, extend the treadlife of the tyre as well as improving grip – in dry weathers all the way to the snowiest of days.

Michelin have designed this tyre with safety at the forefront with the Cross Climate 2 stopping up to 16 feet shorter than competitor tyres based on Michelin testing.

The Michelin CrossClimate 2 - 215/45 R17 Y is an all season tyre.

Loads of grip, not as much noise as I was expecting and a very smooth and comfortable ride. Looking forward to at least one day in winter where I can try them out in snowy / icy conditions. I now have CrossClimate² tyres on all my vehicles. There’s how much I like and trust them.

Today was judgement day for these all weather tyres. I’ve had them a couple of months during the fine weather but today it has been snowing overnight. We live at the bottom of a bank that always causes issues getting up the bank as it’s not gritted. No issues at all and drive around all day without losing grip or slipping. Well impressed and will be buying them again.

I used to have Pilot Sports 4 and I felt that the Cross Climate 2 are softer, they have a more flexible sidewall, making them more comfortable in bumpy roads. Tyres have plenty of grip from cold, when warmed up they are quite good but not has good like UHP tyres like the Pilot Sports. They Overheat quicker then Pilot Sports 4. I take my car off roading every other month in a Motorsport Event called Autotest and these tyres have very good grip. I can still slide the car around when needed and the tyres are very controllable. Tyres are all seasons claiming they are M+S although I got stuck in the mud a couple of times and had to put my tyre pressures all the way down to 25psi (usually 35) and had to be towed out. Overall it's a good overall tyre, capable of doing many things without problems but it doesn't excel at anything in particular.

Grip is solid and dependable for both motorway and country roads across summer to winter conditions. Wet performance is also very good. An excellent choice for UK roads.

Solid all weather performance. Grippy enough for efficiency progress on country roads at national speed limit. Grip is close to sportier tyres. Excellent cold weather grip to rival winter tyres and doesn't get caught out like summer tyres. These are my, now, go to tyre.

As expected. Less grip compared to sporty summer tyres but ability is sufficient to cover UK conditions in Winter.

The previous owner had opted to switch for Michelin CrossClimates, previously with rear wheel drive cars, I have switched from summer to winter tyres as appropriate, but as this car was already on all seasons, I decided to stick with them for a few years to try them out. They are fine, they are, like any all season, somewhat compromised between summer performance and winter performance, but as this is generally my daily commuting car, they have performed fairly well for the intended purpose, I still however, am unlikely to choose to drive in the snow on these tyres with this car, unlike previously with other cars on dedicated winter tyres,

They have great grip and I haven't slid once despite fording a few floods and many puddles. They hold up to frost well and - more importantly on my rural roads! - have hit roughly 90 potholes doing at least 40 with the only damage being my blood pressure. In warmer weather they drive smoothly so I'm hoping that will still prove to be the case in spring/summer.

So far so good. Didn't have much real winter condition yet. Fuel consumption went slightly up, by ca. 0.5L petrol/100 km.

I am entirely happy and confident with these tyres. This is supremely important to me as, in general, I am not naturally a super-confident driver in challenging situations. I look sometimes at the wet track marks my cross climate tyres make when I park up at home and I absolutely love the clear imprint they leave behind!

Handling not as sharp as OEM Michelin Pilot Sport 4s, but quieter and, for my use case, the difference is negligible in summer. In poor winter conditions these are indispensable.

The Michelin Cross Climate 2's are a superbly engineered tyre. Having driven in all conditions except heavy snow, their performance is sublime. A good Summer tyre has oughtright straight line stability whereas an all season is a small trade off - although compared to a mid range Summer tyre, probably equal in dynamics. For sheer confidence in all conditions, I cannot think of a better tyre. Year round performance and security!
