Previous Goodyear Asymmetric 5s were superb in all conditions, and especially impressive when pushing on in the wet, but they were quite hard riding in all conditions. That's why I planned to order Hankooks, but when I saw the Michelin Primacy 4 S2 (S2 : softer compound) on offer at only +£10 p/t vs Hankooks, the Michelins were an easy choice. Now they're fitted and I've driven a month with them, I'd say they they've got to be the perfect tyre for a Mini Cooper. Wonderfully riding, very surefooted, and likely much better lifetime mileage than either the Asymmetric 5 or Ventus Evo 3.

The tyres perform OK but I only got ~19000 miles from the previous front pair whereas I would normally get ~25000 miles. When I checked the tread depth on the new tyres it was 8mm. Previous new tyres (different make) were 10mm. Shrink-flation? My next tyres won't be Michelin!
