Product description & features
The Michelin Primacy 4 is a high performance car tyre - "safe when new, safe when worn*."
Michelin have developed the Primacy 4, successor to the extremely popular Primacy 3, for high levels of safety and longevity.
An innovative tread wear indicator on the tyre helps motorists to identify when the tyre require changing.
Primacy 4 tyres are available in 15 inch, 16 inch, 17 inch, 18 inch, 19 inch and 20 inch rim tyre sizes.
Michelin's use of their EverGrip Technologies within the construction of the Primacy 4 have helped to bolster the tyre's wet braking performance.
Alongside this the tyre features a tread pattern which has been constructed with an optimised sculpture to allow for quick and efficient water evacuation.
This adds up to reducing the risk of aquaplaning and delivering a shorter braking distances in wet conditions.
The Michelin Primacy 4 has been developed to deliver drivers with excellent longevity.
MaxTouch technology has been used in the makeup of the tyre to maximise the level of contact the tread has with the road. This helps to distribute the forces of acceleration and braking evenly across the whole tyre, leading to a more even and longer wear rate.
Michelin have developed a new compound which allows the tyre to deliver reliable strong traction and reliable braking performance throughout the lifespan of the tyre.
Since its initial launch in January 2018, the Primacy 4 has gone on to win several tyre test awards.
The Michelin Primacy 4 is only currently manufactured in 1 variant of tyre:
Please note: before you select your tyres, ensure that the tyre size that you intend to order are the correct variant and matches your vehicle type.
* New and Worn (worn means 2mm tread depth), on 205/55 R16 91V MICHELIN PRIMACY 4, is above the R117 European regulation wet grip threshold.
What are summer tyres?
Summer tyres are specifically designed for warm weather conditions, particularly during the summer season. This type of tyre performs best when in seasons with warmer temperatures - above 7°C.
How does a summer tyre perform better in summer?
The technologies and tread patterns used in a summer tyre mean the tyres have high-quality features that are of benefit to driving in warm conditions. They typically use a softer rubber compound – designed for good grip and traction when driving on dry and wet roads.
Can you use summer tyres in winter?
Whilst summer tyres still offer adequate performances in wet and cooler conditions, it is recommended that you change. The tread design and technologies that are featured in summer tyres can harden in colder temperatures, resulting in reduced flexibility and decreased traction on snow and ice.
