How long should you wait after a puncture repair?

After fixing a tyre puncture, give it about 10 to 15 minutes before driving.

This wait lets you make sure the repair is holding and the tyre pressure is stable. If the tyre pressure drops, then this means the repair has not worked.

If you’ve used a sealant kit, the wait time can be longer—sometimes up to an hour—to allow the sealant to fully set and seal the tyre properly.

If a professional tyre fitter did the repair, they’d give you specific advice on how long to wait. Regardless of the method used, always check that the tyre is properly inflated and the repair is secure before hitting the road. Ignoring these checks could result in further damage or accidents.
