Celebrate International Lego Day

On January 28th, Lego enthusiasts from all corners of the globe are able to come together in celebration of the iconic Lego brick. Something so simple that can lead to limitless imagination and fun.

Lego Day is more than just a day for Lego fans – it's a celebration of creativity, innovation, and the surprising intersection between toys and tyres.

But first… a fun fact. Did you know that Lego is the world's largest tyre manufacturer?

Each year the company produces over 400 million tiny rubber tyres. Meaning that Lego far surpasses all bigger (literally) tyre giants. Including Michelin, Bridgestone and Continental

Lego man crossing the road

Lego first launched back in 1932. It was Ole Kirk Christiansen, a Danish carpenter, who we have to thank. However, originally, the building pieces were made from wood.

It wasn’t until 1949 that Lego began manufacturing the plastic bricks we know today.

It’s worth considering when you are clicking those brightly colour bricks into place, that you're continuing a legacy that has been going for over 90 years ago!
