Continental are soon to release the latest model from their
PremiumContact range.
Set to follow in the footsteps of the award winning
PremiumContact 6 – the new PremiumContact 7 is said to be entering the
premium tyres market in the Autumn of 2022.
With the ever-increasing popularity of electric vehicles, the new PremiumContact 7 has been developed to deliver a top performance for all vehicle types – be that EV or ICE (internal combustion engine).
Details on the features and technological advances of the PremiumContact 7 are somewhat scarce at the time of writing, with little being divulged to the public at this time.
Imagery of the tyre does show, that a full redesign of the tread pattern has been undertaken – when compared to its predecessor.
What little has been said about the new features, includes a broad hint at the areas of performance focused on.
In particular the tyre’s handling, braking ability and comfort levels.
It is also worth noting that with Continental confirming the tyre will be suitable as both an EV tyre and the more traditional form of car tyres – there is sure to be some improvements made to the tyre’s rolling resistance, strength and wear rates.
Given the fact that EV tyres are required to deal with greater vehicle weight and high levels of torque.
Details on which sizes the tyre will come in have yet to be released, however a statement on the Continental website does hint that the initial release will cover a wide range:
“…with the first sizes, Continental will already cover a
wide variety of different vehicles.”
Further details of the new model – including sizes and prices – should be released soon. With the PremiumContact 7 expected to enter the market in the Autumn of 2022.
