Both released in 2021, the Continental SportContact 7 and Bridgestone Potenza Sport are premium tyre models produced by two of the biggest tyre manufacturers in the world.

Between the two models, significant technological advancements were formed from both Continental and Bridgestone, making the tyres sought-after products from car owners globally.

Continental SportContact 7 Overview

The SportContact 7 is a premium tyre model manufactured by German tyre company Continental.

The SportContact 7 features Continental’s Black Chili rubber compound to improve the maximum grip during acceleration, along with enhancement of cornering and breaking in all seasons.

The premium tyres also has an adaptive tread pattern, giving the SportContact 7 safe driving behaviour that can adapt to both wet and dry surfaces.

Continental’s 2021 model replaced the previous SportContact model – Continental SportContact 6.

Bridgestone Potenza Sport Overview

The Potenza Sport is a high-performance tyre made by tyre manufacturing company Bridgestone.

Bridgestone has developed the Potenza Sport with an efficient asymmetrical tread design for controlled cornering and maximised steering response.

For optimal short braking distance, the Bridgestone Potenza Sport is equipped with a sporty profile shape and tread compound, giving the tyre stability in grip performance.

The Potenza Sport replaced the Bridgestone Potenza S001.

Potenza Sport Label Ratings

The Bridgestone Potenza Sport has an average fuel efficiency rating of C, with different tyre sizes having a rating of either E, D, C or B.

The Potenza Sport has a wet grip rating of either C, B or A depending on tyre size, however, a rating of A is predominantly featured across each tyre sizes.

Tyre noise ratings for the Bridgestone model range between 68A and 73B, with an average tyre noise rating of 72B.

SportContact 7 Awards

The Continental SportContact 7 has won multiple awards since its inception, including the WhatTyre Tyre of the Year in 2022. Other awards include the Red Dot Award’s ‘Product Design’, as well as the iF Design Award – both granted in 2022.

These awards were given to the model due to the featured overlayed previously, such as the tread design, tread pattern, and wet grip performance.
