Tyre Label Ratings

The EU tyre label ratings exist to give consumers a quick and easy way to determine the performance of a tyre in some key areas. The 3 main ratings that a tyre is scored on are:

The wet grip and fuel efficiency scores are marked on a scale from A – E. With A being the best, and E the worst.

Noise ratings are scored slightly differently, with the scores sorted into class A, B or C. On top of this the rolling noise of the tyre is measured in decibels and the number shown on the label.

As tyre models come in a variety of different sizes, you may find that the score changes from size to size – there is no model wide scoring.
