Goodyear has launched their latest generation of premium tyres – the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6.
A new adaptive contact patch technology helps to deliver greater grip when in corner - by enhancing the tyre's contact patch when under load.
The newly created a new tyre has been designed to offer consistent performance in wet and dry conditions. This is achieved by increasing grip, whilst not increasing the rolling resistance of the tyre.
The new Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 has been developed to provide a top performance for a variety of vehicle types. These include luxury saloons, compact sports car and hot hatchbacks.
Other innovations that have been developed for the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6, include the use of a new resins within the tyre’s compound. These increase the amount of contact between rubber and tarmac, without resulting in negative effects on the tyre’s rolling resistance or rate of wear.
As electric vehicles become increasingly popular, Goodyear has also designed the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 to suit the majority of the market’s latest generation EVs. Delivering the specific qualities needed from a tyre fitted to EVs, such as higher weight figures and acute torque performance.
At the time of launch, the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 is available in an initial limited range of 28 car tyres sizes. These are in 17-18 inch rims, with 19 inch sizes to become available later in the year.
The year 2023 should see a full range of size made available to the market. With Goodyear planning to offer the tyre in 65 different sizes, from 17-22 inch in rim size.
