This month Michelin launched their latest generation all-season tyre for SUVs – the CrossClimate 2 SUV.
This latest tyre to be added to the CrossClimate group, now means the range features a number of premium tyres for different vehicles and needs.
Featuring the Michelin EverGrip technology, the CrossClimate 2 SUV new adaptive contact patch technology helps to deliver greater grip when in corner - by enhancing the tyre's contact patch when under load.
Certified as 3 Peak Mountain Snow Flake (3PMSF - the industry standard symbol which indicates that a tyre is reliable and safe for driving in snow), the new tyre has been shown to deliver almost 20% increase in snow traction tests, as well as a reduction of 5 metres - on average - when braking in snow.
In terms of wet braking, the CrossClimate 2 SUV brake, on average, 2 metres quicker when compared to its competitors.
The tyre's tread pattern includes a V-shape groove - which helps to enhance the tyre's water drainage, by quickly dispersing water from the tyre's path. This helps to significantly reduce the risk of aquaplaning.
Michelin's MaxTouch Construction technology features in the new tyre - which works to better optimise the stresses the tyre experiences when in contact with the road. The even distribution of these forces across the tyre helps to deliver predictable handling, even wear and longer treadlife.
At the time of launch, the CrossClimate 2 SUV is available in an initial limited range of 40 sizes. These are in 17-20 inch rims.
