Tyre Label Ratings

Since 2012, the EU tyre label regulation has existed to ensure that tyres sold at point of contact have ratings in key performance areas.

This is to ensure that motorists have an accessible way to determine the performance of a tyre.

The 3 main ratings that a tyre is scored on are:

Wet grip rating
Fuel efficiency
Noise rating

The wet grip and fuel efficiency scores are marked on a scale from A – G. With A being the best, and G the worst.
