Choosing new tyres can be a daunting task given the scale of options available on the market.
The Michelin e.Primacy and Michelin Primacy 4 are two models which both belong to the Primacy range of tyres from Michelin.
Given that both models are from the same family of tyre, you may be wondering how they differ. And which one suits your needs.
In this piece we will be going through what these tyres provide individually and how they have been developed to meet the needs of different vehicle and driving types.
The Michelin e.Primacy launched in the Spring of 2021 and was billed as Michelin’s first eco-responsible tyre.
Through the use of cutting edge technology and innovative construction techniques, the Michelin e.Primacy was developed to provide motorists with a superior rolling resistance performance.
This low rolling resistance was crucial in reaching Michelin’s aim of being eco-responsible. By reducing the levels of force required to roll, the car is able to burn less fuel or use less electricity - contributing to a reduction in CO2 emissions.
Buy e.Primacy tyresThe Michelin Primacy 4 is the successor to the very popular Primacy 3. It built upon the strong reputation and performances of the older model to deliver a tyre with safety and longevity at its heart.
A new tyre compound was designed for this model to deliver a strong traction with reliable braking performances.
This model also introduced a tread wear indicator to help motorists figure out when their tyres require replacement.
Buy Primacy 4 tyresThe EU tyre label ratings were introduced to the tyre industry as a means to provide customers with an easy way to determine how tyres perform in key areas. The 3 main areas that are tested and score on are:
The wet grip and fuel efficiency scores are marked on a scale from A – G. With A being the best, and G the worst.
Noise ratings are scored slightly differently, with the scores sorted into class A, B or C. On top of this the rolling noise of the tyre is measured in decibels and the number shown on the label.
As tyre models come in a variety of different sizes, you may find that the score changes from size to size – there is no model wide scoring.
