This month Hankook has unveiled their latest tyre to the Ventus Prime range – the Hankook Ventus Prime 4.
Set to build upon the success of the tyre’s award-winning predecessor – the Ventus Prime 4 has been developed to further enhance performance in regard to rolling resistance, mileage and handling.
At launch the tyre is set to be made available in over 60 different tyre sizes – covering both the
car and SUV markets. With the rim sizes ranging from 16 to 20 inches.
One key marker for Hankook was to improve upon the tyre’s lifespan. Something which is said to have been achieved with the durability of the
car tyres around 20 percent greater than previous models.
The development of a high mileage compound technology has helped to boost the tread block’s stiffness – helping to significantly lower the rolling resistance and improve wear rates.
The use of a high silica compound, alongside a new tread pattern has been used in the tyre to improve wet braking performance.
Hankook have also reportedly used anechoic chambers with foam wedges in a bid to absorb sound. This with a rounded tread block pattern has allowed Hankook to make the Ventus Prime 4 up to 2.5dB quieter – according to their engineers.
The Hankook Prime Ventus 4 is set to launch in the UK later in the year.
