The Continental Premium Contact 6 is a high performance tyre, bridging the gap between comfortable and sporty tyres.
Continental have developed an innovative tread, blending an abrasion-resistant polymer compound with a supple tread pattern. As such the new Premium Contact 6 tyre delivers a 15% improvement in mileage when compared to its predecessor - the ContiSportContact 5 and ContiPremiumContact 5. Similarly, Continental have achieved lower noise levels by as much as 10%
The Premium Contact 6 features the high-tech SportContact 6 tyre shoulder configuration, combined with an asymmetrical tread rib geometry. This provides the tyre with additional grip and ensures the tyre is capable of transferring very high forces, such as those experienced when cornering, extremely effectively - for greater control and traction.
PremiumContact 6 tyres are available in 15 inch, 16 inch, 17 inch, 18 inch, 19 inch, 20 inch, 21 inch and 22 inch rim tyre sizes.
The PremiumContact 6 first launched in November 2016. Since then is has been recognised in a number of tests and awards, including the following:
The PremiumContact 6 is currently manufactured in 2 variants of tyre:
Please note: before you select your tyres, ensure that the tyre size that you intend to order are the correct variant and matches your vehicle type.
What are summer tyres?
Summer tyres are specifically designed for warm weather conditions, particularly during the summer season. This type of tyre performs best when in seasons with warmer temperatures - above 7°C.
How does a summer tyre perform better in summer?
The technologies and tread patterns used in a summer tyre mean the tyres have high-quality features that are of benefit to driving in warm conditions. They typically use a softer rubber compound – designed for good grip and traction when driving on dry and wet roads.
Can you use summer tyres in winter?
Whilst summer tyres still offer adequate performances in wet and cooler conditions, it is recommended that you change. The tread design and technologies that are featured in summer tyres can harden in colder temperatures, resulting in reduced flexibility and decreased traction on snow and ice.
