A Cupra first, the Tavascan will be its premiere all-electric SUV coupé: but will its iconic Cupra styling be enough to shake up the market?

The Tavascan boasts a sleek and athletic design. Its sharp lines, sloping roofline, and aggressive front end all contribute to its sporty coupé SUV aesthetic. The overall look is undeniably modern: with its signature headlamps and ‘shark nose’ bonnet helping set it apart from its more conservatively styled rivals.
As you would expect, it comes with a range of powertrain options, plus a choice of rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The entry-level rear-wheel drive model boasts a respectable 282 bhp, while the range-topping all-wheel drive VZ model packs a punch with 335 bhp, allowing for a 0-62 mph time of just 5.5 seconds. All models are powered by a 77 kWh battery, offering a range of up to 321 miles.
Inside, the Tavascan presents a modern and driver-focused cabin. A large 13.4-inch central touchscreen dominates the dashboard, controlling the majority of the car's functions. Despite its sporty aspirations, the Tavascan offers a comfortable and spacious interior, with ample legroom and headroom for both front and rear passengers.
For its rubber, the Spanish brand partnered with South Korean-based Hankook for specifically developed tyres. Hankook has modified its iON evo SUV tyres for the Cupra Tavascan. These tyres feature a range of technologies designed to enhance the driving experience. The Opti Pitch Technology minimises tread noise, to keep up with the quiet and refined ride this electric SUV coupé offers. Furthermore, the high silica content in the tyre compound enhances grip on wet roads, providing an extra layer of safety and confidence, particularly important considering the Tavascan's performance potential.
All this does not come cheap, and if you’d like to have a Tavascan parked on your driveaway, it will set you back £54,995 for the entry-level V1 trim. Stepping up to the VZ trim will set you back upwards of £64,495.
So, with its striking design, impressive performance figures, and focus on a refined driving experience, the Cupra Tavascan is a compelling new entry in the electric coupé SUV market. The question is, do you think this sporty EV has what it takes to make a lasting impression?
