German artist Cevin Parker has showcased his talents by creating one truly unique Artura supercar.
In a rare meeting of two worlds: contemporary art and supercars, McLaren Automotive has collaborated with an up-and-coming abstract artist to produce a stunning one-off design for the Artura.
Speaking about his bold work, Parker added: “I am truly thrilled on having the opportunity to work together with McLaren and to bring two of my biggest passions together: art and supercars. I am excited to see the public’s reaction to this project.”
To showcase his masterpiece, the Artura is set to be exhibited at several prestigious automotive industry and art market events in the coming months.

But why did he choose the Artura for this project? Well, reportedly the mini-McLaren made the perfect canvas thanks to its sleek, aerodynamic silhouette – which is already inspired by modern art. While the Artura name itself is an amalgamation of art and future.
Bastian Luehmann, Market Director Central Europe, McLaren Automotive, commented:"We are delighted to reveal this exclusive collaboration with Cevin Parker.
"Parker's extraordinary talent and deep understanding of art have allowed him to create a truly remarkable design that perfectly captures the spirit of the Artura."
"His use of colour – particularly the vibrant combination of purple and yellow – symbolises creativity, individuality, energy and optimism, all of which resonate with the Artura’s dynamic personality.”
This isn’t the first time a manufacturer has let an artist loose on a car before though. Perhaps the most famous example is BMW 's art cars. Initially painted by Alexander Calder in the mid-1970s, his designs have spawned a further 19 mobile artworks to date.
Don’t worry if you’re not a fan of Parker’s work though, the McLaren hasn’t been irrevocably damaged in the process: it’s just a wrap.
Do you think there’s a place for art cars in galleries around the world, or should paintbrushes be kept on canvas?
