Firestone tyres are manufactured by Bridgestone, a Japanese tyre manufacturing company. Firestone's main manufacturing facilities are located in the United States, with manufacturing plants being located in Tennesse (headquarters), North Carolina, Lowa, Indiana and Ohio. Firestone products are also produced globally, with operation plants in Japan, Brazil, Thailand, Mexico and Costa Rica.
The spelling of tyres/tires differs between the use of British English, and American English. For example, when Firestone are operating in the United Kingdom the company will brand their products as 'Firestone tyres', whereas in the United States, they would be referred to as 'Firestone tires'.
On average, Firestone tyres can last between 40,000 to 60,000 miles, depending on driving conditions, maintenance, and tyre models.
The tyre markings provide valuable information to assist in selecting the right tyre. The width number indicates the width, while the aspect ratio represents the sidewall height in. The load and speed ratings provide details about the tire's weight-carrying capacity and maximum speed capability. The construction type and wheel diameter are denoted by alphanumeric codes.
