Precision in handling is a key component of the Pilot Sport 5 tyre. Michelin have worked hard to construct a tyre that deliver responsive driving - whilst boasting a unique combination of both sport performance and longer longevity (1). Drive for longer without sacrificing on performance thanks to Michelin's MaxTouch Construction, that evenly distributing the forces of acceleration, braking and cornering for a longer tread life.​

Long-lasting tyre grip

Developed by Michelin to deliver enhanced wet and dry braking (2-3-4-5). The Pilot Sport 5 features Dual Sport Tread Design with an inner tread that contains large longitudinal grooves. These disperse water from the tyre's path to increase wet road traction. The tyre's outer tread has been developed with rigid blocks that deliver better grip on dry roads - allowing motorists to enjoy confidence and enjoyment on the road.​

Performance meets design

Style and substance come hand-in-hand with the Pilot Sport 5 - thanks to Michelin's Premium Velvet Touch Sidewall design, which features a matt-black velvet-like micro texture. Details matter.​

Dynamic response technology

Good tyres. Superb in the summer grip really well. Can be good in the wet too if they have heat in them. Below 8C the grip is noticeably less and they don’t perform so well but they are a summer tyre so to be expected. Can get by in the winter being sensible. Not amazing in the snow but drive accordingly. They lasted 19k miles on the fronts before needing replaced. Mix of motorway and A roads for those miles with a fairly fast driving style. The rim protection is decent too, saved my alloys for a scuff a couple times. Noise levels were ok.

These tyres are now about half worn and still perform pretty much as they were at 2,000 miles. Tread wear probably reflects a reasonable amount of calmer motorway miles, but still appears to be better than the Michelin PS4's they replaced. The only complaint I have is tyre noise, especially on concrete surfaces, although a little less than the PS4's. Come on Michelin, put your technology gurus on this to make them quieter while still keeping everything else the same!

I liked the tyres so much I have recently replaced my rears with them. They have provided excellent grip in all weather conditions ( we got very little snow this year so no issues) and appear to be wearing less than my old Bridgestones.

I have only covered 2,000+ miles since fitting, replacing worn Bridgestone Potenza S005 on the front. they had done 10,500 miles. The new tyres are so reassuring, providing excellent grip in the wet- we have had plenty of rain since I purchased them! I also hope that I get better milage from these than the original equipment Bridgestones. I will replace the rears with these when required.
