What is the difference between budget, mid-range, and premium tyres?

There are three main categories that most tyres and tyre manufacturers fall into, budget tyres, mid-range tyres and premium tyres.

What are budget tyres?

Budget tyres are normally seen as the cheapest option. They are typically made using lower quality materials and technology.

As such a budget tyre will have a shorter lifespan than other tyres. They tend to not perform as well as mid range or premium tyres.

They are only an option for motorists on a tight budget. Or those who do not drive as often.

What are mid-range tyres?

Mid-range tyres are seen as a step up from budget tyres when it comes to quality. They sit between budget and premium in terms of performance.

Mid range tyres deliver a greater balance between affordability and performance.

They are normally constructed from better quality materials than those used in a budget.

They are designed to provide a better experience when it comes to handling, grip, and fuel efficiency – when compared with budget tyres.

What are premium tyres

Premium tyres are normally most expensive option. With the increased price tag comes a far superior performance - in all the key aspects of a tyre.

They are made using the highest quality materials and cutting edge technology. A lot of R&D goes into developing tyres that can deliver a superior performance.

Premium tyres have a longer lifespan than budget and mid-range tyres. Making them a good investment for those who drive frequently. And who want the best possible performance from their tyres.

Differences between the tyres

Budget tyres are the cheapest option. They are made with lower quality materials and may not perform as well as mid-range or premium tyres.

Mid-range tyres offer a balance between affordability and performance. They are made using better quality materials than a budget tyre.
