Do EVs need an oil change?

No, electric vehicles (EVs) do not use engine oil as they do not have an internal combustion engine (ICE).

EVs use an electric motor. These run on a battery pack so require no engine oil changes.

Oil is used in some EVs for their gearbox. To lubricate the gears and bearings. As such, the gearbox oil should be checked and replaced as per the manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule.

Though your electric car does not need oil, it requires a routine check on these 3 fluids in EVs; coolant, brake fluid, and windshield washing fluid.
