What are car locking wheel nuts?

Locking wheel nuts, also referred to as a lug nut keys, are small metal tools that are used to lock lug nuts on car wheels.

A car will typically arrive with one locking wheel nut per wheel, meaning each car should have four lug nut keys for full protection.

These tools replace the standard lug nut on your wheel and act as security measures for all your vehicle’s wheels, helping to prevent the risk of wheel theft.

High-value wheels that feature custom rims, alloys, or performance tyres can be a target for thieves, so using unique locking nuts to each of your wheels will secure them and ensure no one is stealing such valuable parts of your car.

The unique lug nut keys should be stored in a safe location that only you are aware of.

In the event of a tyre change, you should locate your locking nut keys as well as a tyre fitter being aware of the wheel nut locations.

If cannot find your locking wheel nuts/lug nut keys, consider finding a replacement online today.
