Season Opener: Donington Park National (26/27 April)

The excitement begins at Donington Park National, a circuit known for delivering action-packed racing. The 2024 season opener saw intense battles amid torrential rain, with 2022 Champion Tom Ingram stealing the spotlight with pole position and two race wins. Expect more drama as the 2025 campaign kicks off!

May Battles: Brands Hatch Indy (10/11 May) & Snetterton (24/25 May)

The championship quickly shifts into high gear with a return to Brands Hatch Indy, where newly crowned champion Jake Hill will enjoy his first homecoming of the season. Later in the month, the BTCC heads to Norfolk’s Snetterton, the longest circuit on the calendar, where strategy and speed go hand in hand.

High-Speed Action in June: Thruxton (7/8 June) & Oulton Park (21/22 June)

Thruxton—Britain’s fastest circuit—hosts the next round, before Oulton Park wraps up the first half of the season. In 2024, this challenging Cheshire track saw a last-lap masterclass from Hill, who snatched victory in Round 15.

Post-Summer Break: Croft (2/3 August) & Knockhill (16/17 August)

After the mid-season break, BTCC returns in full force with back-to-back race weekends. Croft kick-starts August’s schedule, before the paddock ventures north to Scotland’s iconic Knockhill, where bumper-to-bumper racing is a guarantee.

August Triple-Header: Donington Park GP (30/31 August)

The racing doesn’t stop in August, as BTCC revisits Donington Park—this time on the challenging Grand Prix circuit—for a third round in the same month.

The Final Stretch: Silverstone (20/21 September) & Brands Hatch GP (4/5 October)

Silverstone sets the stage for the penultimate event of the season before the grand finale at Brands Hatch GP. The closing rounds promise to be a thrilling showdown, with defending champion Jake Hill aiming to fend off rivals like four-time champ Ashley Sutton and 2022 winner Tom Ingram.

Alan Gow, BTCC Chief Executive, said: “It’s good news for our partners, stakeholders and fans that we can confirm next season’s BTCC calendar earlier than ever before, allowing for important planning to commence for all parties.

“The schedule has become a tried and tested formula in recent years and is universally backed. We are continuously pushing the boundaries on-track with new-for-2024 qualifying, hybrid and tyre regulations, so I am sure our teams will be happy with the continuity and consistency of our calendar.

“Of course, being able to agree our dates so early with our partners at ITV ensures we have locked in the primary slots for our continued all-day-live and free television coverage on ITV4. It also has a positive benefit for the rest of British motorsport, as other organisers can continue planning and scheduling their own events.

“Last year, I said we were unlikely to release our calendar any earlier than mid-May… I was wrong… and we are delighted to be able to announce this schedule earlier than ever before!”

Race Grids

This system ensures close racing and unpredictable battles, keeping the competition dynamic throughout the season.

What tyres do BTCC cars use?

Goodyear tyres are used during the British Tour Car Championship season.

Drivers and teams have unanimously supported the return of the Goodyear ‘Option’ tyre for all events, except Thruxton, where only the hard compound will be used due to the circuit’s high-speed demands and abrasive surface.

Most race weekends will feature two of the three available compounds—hard, medium, or soft—with each driver required to run the ‘Option’ tyre at least once across Race 1, Race 2, or Race 3, promoting diverse strategies.

At select events, all three tyre compounds must be used across the three races. Additionally, the top three finishers in Race 1 must run the hardest compound available in Race 2.

Unlike previous seasons, teams do not need to declare their  tyre choice before qualifying. Instead, their selection will only be confirmed as the cars leave the pit lane.

What is TTB (Toca Turbo Boost) and how is it used?

The TOCA Turbo Boost (TTB) system in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) is designed to balance competition by regulating boost deployment based on a driver's position in the championship or on the grid.

How It Works:

Additional Rules:

This system ensures closer racing by giving those further down the order more opportunities to challenge the frontrunners while limiting dominant performances from the leaders.

What licence do I need to enter the BTCC?

Entry to the BTCC requires a TOCA BTCC Licence (TBL). A limited number of TBLs are available to teams. Teams may sell, gift, lease, assign or loan their TBL to other existing teams or eligible new entries on a season-long basis only, subject to the approval of TOCA as to the integrity of both recipient and transaction

Are BTCC cars road legal?

No, BTCC cars are not road legal.

Although BTCC teams use  standard road car models as their base, nearly every component is modified for racing. As a result, these cars differ significantly from their road-going counterparts and are not legal for everyday driving.

What is the Jack Sears Trophy?

The Jack Sears Trophy (JST) is a special competition within the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), designed to recognize and reward emerging talent.

Eligibility Criteria:

Named after Jack Sears, the first-ever BTCC champion (1958), the trophy serves as a stepping stone for up-and-coming drivers, giving them a platform to showcase their potential within the championship.

PLEASE NOTE: These regulations may be amended by TOCA during the course of the season with all teams and officials notified of any changes via official championship bulletins.
