One of the key parts of maintaining your tyres throughout their lifetime is making sure you have them inflated to the correct tyre pressure.
Tyre pressure affects your car’s handling, braking and longevity. If you do not maintain it at the correct level, you will likely notice poorer performances in these areas.
If you are a BMW 1 Series owner, you may find yourself wondering where you can find the recommended tyre pressure for your car.
Luckily your BMW 1 Series tyre pressure can be found in several places.
If you do not know what the manufacturer’s recommended tyre pressure should be for your BMW 1 Series, two places you can check are:
Your vehicle may no longer come with a physical handbook. If this is the case, you should be able to gain access to a digital version on the BMW website.
The steps to get your car’s handbook online are:
As well as accessing this information online, BMW also have an app which you can use to find various pieces of useful information about the maintenance of your car – such as the BMW 1 Series tyre pressure.
The app is available to download on both the Apple Store and Google Play – simply search for ‘My BMW App’ on whichever store your smartphone uses.

As well as maintenance information, the app also allows you to connect your mobile device to your BMW with features such as:
Once you have found the tyre pressure for your BMW 1 Series, make sure your tyres are at the correct level.
This can be done via the app (as mentioned above) or the old-fashioned way, by checking your tyres with a pressure gauge.
If you find that your tyres need adjusting, make sure to increase the tyre pressure as required.
To ensure that your BMW 1 Series onboard computer does not flag tyre pressure issues once you have updated the pressure in your tyres you will need to reset the monitoring system in your car.
This is done via the home menu on your car’s onboard system.
