The system has been a standardised since 2006 and a legal requirement in the UK since 2014.

If your car is compatible with the ISOFIX system, you will find the anchor points at the point of the car’s seat where the bottom meets the back rest. These anchor points are normally metal and u-shaped.

Car seats which have the ISOFIX system included in their design have either metal or plastic arms with corresponding clips at the end of these arms.

To connect the booster seat to the anchor points you will need to position the booster in place and then push these clips into the anchor points.

You should hear a click noise to indicate the booster seat is secure and in place. It can only be disengaged by the use of buttons on the arms which release the clips.
