New SUV summer tyres: Hankook delivers Dynapro HPX
The Hankook Dynapro HPX: a new summer tyre promising a balanced blend of safety, comfort, and durability for SUVs and all-wheel-drive vehicles.
The Dynapro HPX boasts several advancements over its predecessor, the Dynapro HP2. Hankook emphasizes a focus on enhanced grip and reduced braking distance, particularly on wet surfaces.
Hitting the Road: Features and Improvements
The improvements come in part from a new tread design. This design, according to Sanghoon Lee, President and COO of Hankook Tire Europe, caters to the “different requirements of SUVs and all-wheel-drive vehicles”.
Dynapro HPX's contribution to a quieter ride through its knurling technology and optimized tread blocks. This focus on reducing road noise aims to create a more comfortable driving experience for passengers.

Gearing Up for Grip: The Tyre Factor
The Dynapro HPX uses a new material mix and a wider contact patch for improved pressure distribution and tread wear. Hankook claims this results in a 15% reduction in wet braking distance and a 7% improvement in wet handling compared to the HP2. The 3D GripControl sipes, a new addition, are designed to maintain their shape under load, further enhancing grip on wet roads.
A Smooth Finish?
The Dynapro HPX seems to deliver on its promises of safety and durability, with a particular emphasis on wet performance. And Hankook’s focus on noise reduction also suggests a comfortable ride. However, the true test lies in real-world driving experience.
What are your thoughts on these new features? Do you think they justify an upgrade from the Dynapro HP2, or are there other factors you prioritize in a tyre?
