Whether you need a roomy family hatch or a portable power pack to inflate a bouncy castle, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 could be the EV for you. Jonny Smith puts it to the test as he finds out five key things about the 5.
With more distance between its front and rear wheels than a Range Rover, the Ioniq 5 is big on space and comfort. Helping with this are the Michelin Pilot Sport EV tyres fitted to the Hyundai, which have been developed from Michelin’s previous racing experience in Formula E and EVs at the heart of its design and technology.
That grip and composure comes into its own when the Ioniq 5 can dash from 0-62mph in as little as 5.2 seconds. However, as Jonny tells us, the Hyundai is about so much more than just performance figures as it offers generous cabin space and equipment.
The interior is also made from eco-friendly materials such as recycled plastics and plant-based fabrics, as well as using those low rolling resistance Michelin Pilot Sport EV tyres to get the best from every battery charge. Ride along with Jonny to find out what he thinks and how quickly you can blow up a bouncy castle using the Hyundai Ioniq 5.
