Jonny Smith gets to grips with the Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo to find out if it’s the best high performance estate car you can buy.
Up against rivals like Porsche's own Panamera Sport Turismo and the Audi RS6 Avant, the EV Taycan has its work cut out. For this review, Jonny tries the GTS model that comes with twin electric motors and four-wheel drive, which dashes off 0-62mph in just 3.7 seconds thanks to its 598hp.
The Taycan Sport Turismo is sensational to drive and easy to live with, as you’d expect from a Porsche. Jonny also finds this estate is very practical thanks to its large boot, folding rear seats, and the front boot with plenty of room to stash the car’s charging cables.
On a full charge, the Taycan Sport Turismo can cover up to 330 miles. Topping up the battery also shows one of the car’s coolest features as you swipe the bodywork to open the charge port door and it disappears up into the wing. Very neat.
There are plenty of other innovative features that get Jonny excited, like the panoramic glass roof with Variable Light Control that gives nine different sunshade options at the touch of a button. Does all this and the Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo’s brilliant drive convince Jonny? Watch the video to hear his verdict.
