The PURA Vision is a concept from renowned Italian car creator Automobili Pininfarina and is described as an LUV – Luxury Utility Vehicle.
This electric four-wheel drive machine is all about opulence, which is why it’s being unveiled at the pinnacle of classic car sophistication: Monterey Car Week in the US.
Mixing with the most exotic and expensive classics in the world, the PURA Vision stands out for its dramatic yet elegant lines. Even in this company, the PURA Vision will be sure to draw a crowd thanks to its Lounge Doors. Unusually, the concept features traditional front doors, but a back pair that open in the opposite direction, and side windows which hinge from the roof to give unrivalled access to the front or rear seats.

The cabin takes its cues from luxury yachts and uses sustainable or recycled materials, such as soft wool for the upper seat cushions and headlining. Those lucky enough to travel in the back of the PURA Vision will find themselves sat in sculpted chairs abreast an integrated wine cooler. They can also choose whatever music they want as every occupant in the car has individual headrest speakers.
Company CEO Paolo Dellachà says: “PURA Vision is the bridge from our present to an exciting new chapter in the history of Automobili Pininfarina. It previews an exciting future and shows what can be achieved if we apply our PURA design principles to an entirely new kind of vehicle.”
The Italian firm has yet to confirm exact details of its Luxury Utility Vehicle’s electric power, which will be similar to its recently launched Battista hyper GT car. What we do know is the PURA Vision e-LUV sits on bespoke 23-inch alloy wheels and tyres that have a slim white detail line around their edge.
There’s not much risk of that line getting muddy even if the PURA Vision is a luxury off-roader. The tyres’ focus is on-road performance and EV efficiency in the same way as the Battista’s Pirelli P Zeros.
Will the PURA Vision make the leap from concept to reality in the same way as the Battista? That depends on the welcome it gets at its world premiere during Monterey Car Week in the Californian sunshine. If looks are anything to go by, there will be a lot of LUV for the PURA Vision.
