Looking at Hennessey’s new F5 Revolution Roadster, you’d be forgiven for asking if it’s the wildest thing to come out of Texas. It’s not cover girl pretty, but its angular features have a charm all of their own.
The Revolution Roadster is the fourth model to join the Venom F5 Family, and it sounds like it’s learnt a thing or two from its siblings. The new model has the F5 Coupe’s speed, the open-roof F5 Roadster’s driving experience, and the track-focus of this year’s F5 Revolution coupe. What’s not to love?

Aerodynamically engineered
Despite launching in the same year, the Revolution Roadster isn’t a quick rehash of the track-going coupe. It’s been lovingly re-engineered to deliver excellent performance on both track and road. Incorporating track-inspired aerodynamic enhancements, such as large front and rear splitters, distinctive dive planes, and a notable rear wing. Plus, a retuned suspension, digital track telemetry and new wheels – equipped with Michelin. The Pilot Sport Cup 2 would be the ideal combination for this model. These high-performance tyres are designed for track, using experience gained from endurance competitions, and approved for road use.
Fury-ous speed from an all-American V8
All sounds great, you may well say, but’s what’s under the hood? Well, as with the F5 Roadster, you don’t even need to get your hands dirty to have a look: there’s a tempered glass viewing window. Peering through, viewers are greeted by the iconic twin-turbocharged, 6.6-liter, ‘Fury’ V8 combustion engine from Hennessey Performance, which racks up to 1,817 bhp.
Revolution Roadster raises the roof
Inside, the features are lined with Alcanatara upholstery. Driver and passenger can feel safe against the elements by securing the insulated, single-piece roof. On-track, the roof’s high-strength latches and quick-release bolts work to withstand the air flow at the car’s hyper speed. It’s not a battle to convert to open-roof either, the lightweight, carbon-fibre panel weighs just 8kg – making it manageable on a solo drive.
But, at USD $3M or just over GBP £2.3M, all buyers of the already sold-out 12 Revolution Roadsters have probably got someone who can help them with the roof. Individually commissioned, these 12 cars bring a new meaning to the word unique. Making their global debut at Monterey Car Week 2023, these will be something to see. What do you think?
