Can I mix tyre load ratings?

No, we do not recommend that a customer mixes the tyre load ratings of a tyre on a vehicle.

Tyres that are constructed with different load ratings will provide differing levels of strength and durability. If a person were to fit tyres on their vehicle with differing load ratings, there is a big risk that the odd combinations would compromise the performance and safety.

When selecting tyres for your car, make sure that you select tyres with the same load rating. A load rating that is recommended by the vehicle's manufacturer. You will find this in your vehicle handbook, if you do not know what it should be.

If you are unsure about the correct tyre load rating for your vehicle, you can consult your vehicle's handbook or consult a tyre professional to ensure that you select the right tyres for your vehicle.
