The BMW M1 is a sports car that was produced by BMW from 1978 to 1981. It was the first car to be developed and produced by BMW M - BMW's motorsport division.
The M1 featured a mid-engine design and a 3.5-litre inline six-cylinder engine - that was capable of producing 277 horsepower and 329 NM of torque. It was capable of accelerating from 0-60 mph in just over 5 seconds and had a top speed of 160 mph.
